2011 – Red Squirrels around Perth
In May 2011 PKRSG with the help of the Big Lottery Fund and the royal mail distributed over 36,000 leaflets to all residential PH1 and PH2 postcodes. The leaftlet called The Reds on your doorstep! highlighted two great locations close to the Perth city where red squirrels can still be seen. The leaftlet also highlighted the plight of the red and how people can get involved in red squirrel conservation.
The response to the leaftlet was astonishing, we are still working through all the feedback and one immediate consequence was the need to order more traps! Lots more on this initiative soon.
